Globelines really messed us up. 60 days of downtime. My SEO has crashed and left my ranking below the Marianas Trench.

It was brought to our attention that our business was seriously in danger because of this. Thanks to Liezel, who voluntarily suggested and allowed our server to temporarily be transferred to their home and shoulder all the bills. (it is a little uncomfortable for us though). It took me a hard time to reconfigure the new Bayantel modem because we do not have access to the account in that box. Many thanks to TipidPC forum and Google for the answer for that.

Anyway, when the modem was already set as a router, my main problem was to rewrite my cron shell script–which is responsible for checking and updating of the dynamic i.p address to the DNS. It took me 2 hours doing that (until about 12 midnight to be exact). Now I’ve been recovering my SEO on Google and revising some important server updates.

February 2, Due to “Bandwidth” problems and increasing traffic in my server (and also in the preparation of alamna.com launch) I moved in from my previous ISP (Bayan Communications) to Globelines and increasing my bandwidth of 1 Mbps(hahaha at least shows improvement from previous 384kbps). I got so many problems configuring their modem and also test some important things like mail and security issues. Here is the report:

1. I almost call the globelines to cancel my subscription becauseI can’t restore my server online for 2 days!! and decided to stay put with current ISP and upgrade my subscription to 1Mbps (much expensive thing to do).

2. Still got problems with my mail server (I am still listed as SPAM) but make it operational at last, because Bayan ISP is now blocking my port 25/SMTP since January 18.

3. There was a problem with my DDClient program (the one who updates all my DynDNS hosted sites), reports invalid i.p address and I still haven’t solve this right now cause it’s weird hows that happen!

Anyway, I will now post for the first time the screen shot of my server!
