PLDT strikes anew

Wow, took  me almost 5 days to convinced them I was already paid. Hell yeah!

It was my first server downtime this year and It was very disappointing, my up time score was 98.6 % this year and I had a good start in my SEO score…damn. PLDT must know how I just dumped my two previous DSL provider because of this. As a good payer consumer it is my right to complain how the hell they cut off my dsl service without sufficient grounds!

Good thing I have enough time to perform my periodical maintainance which include patching, updating, cleaning (software and hardware also) and of course my favorite- Experimenting of the server!

At long last my dream virtualization a.k.a “cloud computing stuff” was a reality. I successfully able to run Windows Server and SQL Server 2008 on top of my Ubuntu Server O.S! wow!!!! I can now host both Windows and Non-Windows technology at the same time at the same machine. Thanks Google!

The Resurrection

Globelines really messed us up. 60 days of downtime. My SEO has crashed and left my ranking below the Marianas Trench.

It was brought to our attention that our business was seriously in danger because of this. Thanks to Liezel, who voluntarily suggested and allowed our server to temporarily be transferred to their home and shoulder all the bills. (it is a little uncomfortable for us though). It took me a hard time to reconfigure the new Bayantel modem because we do not have access to the account in that box. Many thanks to TipidPC forum and Google for the answer for that.

Anyway, when the modem was already set as a router, my main problem was to rewrite my cron shell script–which is responsible for checking and updating of the dynamic i.p address to the DNS. It took me 2 hours doing that (until about 12 midnight to be exact). Now I’ve been recovering my SEO on Google and revising some important server updates.

Update: The last screen shot of the Server up time before it was forced down.

Another Kernel Panic

A day after my birthday, My server gives me a suprisingly gift- another day long site down.

What the F!, April Fool’s Day and I just got fool again. I didn’t know how to stop this permanently even I already configured him to restart automatically in the first 20 secs of panic but still shows after rebooting. My logs are full of reboot word and still says in the screen “System Bus Error encountered. etc etc etc….”. And the most weird of all is that I also cannot connect directly to my DSL modem (it is so impossible if there is still internet connection) from outside. There are no Port forwarding config whatsoever, just the i.p (from dyndns updated regularly by the modem itself) and the port still I can’t connect!GrRr!!!

Anyway, What else can I say but to pray It would last longer than 9 days without rebooting him.
