As it is not new for everyone about my new accidental discovery of a firefox browser’s “super shortcut”. Sometime last week when I was chatting with my co-worker and he message me of a certain unknown website(which is not in the url form) and for my laziness I don’t want to search this in Google if it does exist I experimentally highlight the text and slowly dropped in the tab bar of Firefox I was amazed it automatically goes to the site (yup I was shocked then!).So I played it with different scenario including a non-linkable text and etc. Here’s the screen shots:
Highlight the text you want to drag from any source even it does not changed the mouse cursor when you starting to drag it.
Slowly drag the selected text to the tab bar of the browser (next to the last tab).
If a small blue arrow appears on the top of the tab bar you may drop it now.
Firefox will search and process the text you dropped.
If the result was success it will open a tab and load the site but if there is no matching result it will never open a new tab at all. (not shown here in the post)
